The Violent Crime Action Plan Arrests 21 Suspects in North Carolina
In August of 2024, authorities announced that they had arrested 21 suspects for violent crimes and drug offenses – alleging that at least five of these individuals were gang members. This was part of the Violent Crime Action Plan, a new initiative in North Carolina that allows federal and state agencies to exchange information and evidence more freely. The authorities directly attribute these recent arrests to increased cooperation between the FBI, Homeland Security, the ATF, and the Marshals Service.
“Federal intelligence and technology” was instrumental in arresting these 21 individuals, and many of them now face cocaine distribution charges. These individuals were also accused of having “enough fentanyl to kill 120,000 people.”
There were many other cocaine arrests within the next few days, although it’s not clear whether these arrests are also connected with the Violent Crime Action Plan. One defendant was recently sentenced to 20 years in prison for cocaine and weapons offenses. Another faces serious consequences after abandoning his running vehicle and a juvenile passenger during a police chase. He was later found with over 50 grams of cocaine and meth – plus an additional 40 grams of cocaine.
Also in August, a man was sentenced to 22 years in prison for selling cocaine, crack, and fentanyl out of his home in North Carolina. Authorities also found a sawed-off shotgun and several other weapons in his possession.
